On February 24th, Mechanics Day is celebrated in Argentina and Spanish-speaking South American countries, such as Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador and Venezuela. This celebration was established in 1947 with the foundation of the "Sindicato de Mecánicos y Afines del Transporte Automotor" (Mechanics and Related Workers Union in the Automotive Transport Industry), known as SMATA.

Between January and September 2022, a total of 424,563 cases of work-related accidents and occupational diseases were reported in Argentina, resulting in a 2.1% increase compared to the same period in 2019. In 98.5% of cases, the workers affected were from industrial units, while the remaining 1.5% involved domestic workers.

During this period, 96,661 commuting accidents were recorded, a 1.5% increase compared to the same period in 2019. Meanwhile, work-related accidents and occupational diseases that caused days of absence from work reached 264,347 cases, which marked a 0.3% decrease compared to those reported in 2019.

The total number of deaths reached 443, including 238 in the workplace and during work, and 205 accidents during the commute. These figures increased by 5.5% compared to the same period in 2019, with work-related and fatal occupational diseases increasing by 3% and fatal commuting accidents increasing by 8.5%.

Regarding global data, the International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that 2.3 million men and women worldwide suffer work-related accidents, or occupational diseases each year, resulting in over 6,000 deaths every single day. Worldwide, there are approximately 340 million work-related accidents and 160 million victims of occupational diseases every year.

Ensuring worker safety is our constant commitment: from the careful selection of materials to the processing and assembly of our machines, which involves further checks on the smallest details and the testing carried out on each Jack for over an hour, to ensure perfect functioning.

The entire production process is carefully studied in every detail to ensure the quality we promise. Remote controls, handles, axle stands and safety blocks are the elements of our Jacks, which most ensure worker safety during use.

In addition, inside every single Jack packaging, there will be a user manual, explaining how to use it in the best way, to avoid technical problems and facilitate the work.

On this Mechanics Day (día del trabajador mecánico), we would like to underline the importance of using the necessary devices to protect ourselves and of carefully following safety regulations in the workplace.
